Porsche ‘Mission E’ Staff Hiring Drive

‘Mission E’ is Porsche’s electric mobility program that aims to accelerate Porsche participation as a leader in electric car platforms.

2019 is the current target date to roll out the high performance all electric Tesla competitor which will need to meet or exceed Tesla’s Model S travel range of 500km and performance of 0-100kph in 3.2 seconds.

Tesla has rattled European premium vehicle brands by grabbing significant sales from the premium vehicle market with the Tesla Model S. Top brands such as Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi are implementing programs to build electric cars to compete with Tesla and gain back vehicle sales.

Porsche is spending billions of euros on developing long range battery technology and electric car drivetrains to ensure they produce the electric vehicles that customers are now preferring over the old internal combustion cars of the past.

The 1,400 additional staff for Porsche’s ’Mission E’ will consist of 900 production staff, 300 management and 200 engineers. These staff are in addition to the existing team already in place for ‘Mission E’ and the word is that Porsche is advancing their digital mobility technology development. An additional 350 digital experts are also being hired to ensure that Porsche is a leader in the development of self-driving car technology and driver interfaces for the new Porsche models.
